Folk camps- Grandpa’s House program
The Village Development Association and The Hungarian National Rural Network launched a Master- Servant training program in 2012 for students and young people who are interested in ethnic architecture.
The main goals of the program is that during the summer practical training the students become acquainted with the techniques and values of the traditional folk architecture.
During the program the participants can deepen their technical knowledge and they can collect direct experiences from the field of traditional masonry work.
In 2012 two persons started the Master- Servant program in the vine hill in Oszkó and the following year already 25 participants took part in the camp. This year the main goal of the camp was to save the fated vine cellar of the neighbouring settlement which was in very bad condition.Next year the task was to rebuild the saved and documented wine press-house in a new place. In 2016 many foreigner students joined the program and managed to finish the thaching and the mudding of the house.
